| Romance writer Zoe Archer welcomes you to her website. | ||||
News and Notes: June '08 - Who are the Blades of the Rose? Starting in 2010, the stories of these adventurous Victorian-era men and women will be revealed. Beginning with Her Warrior's Heart, Kensington will publish a four-book series that explores the hidden realm of magic that exists just beneath the surface of our world. I have been working on this series for a long time, and I am very eager to present these romantic, exciting tales to you. These stories are set in far-flung corners of the globe - from the windswept steppes of Mongolia, to the azure sea of Greece, to the wild heart of the Canadian forest, and even the bustling city of London. Prepare yourself for action, adventure and blistering sensuality. Come back soon for site updates and more information about this thrilling new series! January '08 - Wishing everyone a wonderful New Year! I also have some very exciting news: my novel, Early Bright, will be published by the Toby Press in Spring 2009. Early Bright is set in post WWII, and follows Louis Greenberg, a con man who preys upon the memories of war widows to earn a living. Louis comes to life in the all-black underground clubs of Los Angeles listening and playing cutting edge jazz, where he meets the woman he cares for but can never truly have. Early Bright will be published under the name Ami Silber, the “real life” alter-ego of Zoë Archer. This is very exciting for me, my first non-romance publication, and I’ll be sure to keep you updated on the latest developments. I’m still hard at work on several romance works-in-progress, too! Keep watching this space for updates, or sign up for my newsletter to get the very latest. Happy New Year! October '07 - Here I am, signing copies of Lady X’s Cowboy and Love in a Bottle in a shop on London’s famous Charing Cross Road. My husband and I were in England to conduct some research on an upcoming novel. Not only was it a thrill to see some of the incredible National Trust properties around the country, but imagine my glee when I saw my books for sale on the other side of the Atlantic!
August '07 - LADY X'S COWBOY Wins Book Buyers Best Award! LADY X'S COWBOY has won the Book Buyers Best Award for Best Historical & Regency Romance! I was presented with the award on August 11 at the monthly meeting of the Orange County Chapter of the Romance Writers of America. What a tremendous honor for my debut novel!
July '07 - I've got a great interview up on Romance Junkies, so stop by and have a read. Get to know me a little better and find out such important facts as: how I met my husband, what traits I think a good writer needs to have, and--because you know you're dying to know--my favorite tree. Enjoy!
May '07 - I'm thrilled to announce that my debut novel, LADY X'S COWBOY, has received award nominations for Best Historical Romance from the Romance Writers of America's Phoenix Chapter's Golden Quill Awards, and the RWA Orange County Chapter's Book Buyers Best Awards!
February '07 - LADY X'S COWBOY has received a Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award nomination for Best First Historical Romance! I am so excited and thrilled by this honor! The winners will be announced in Houston at the annual RT Book Lovers Convention, which will fall this year in the middle of April. Though I won't be able to make it to the convention, you can bet I'll have my fingers and toes crossed until then. In other exciting LADY X news, the French edition, published by J'AI LU, has just been released! It's new title is "Le cow-boy et la lady!" I love it! It was unbelievable to hold a translation of my work, and see the lines that I had written, translated into another language. Plus, I finally get my cowboy on the cover. I'm also very pleased to announce that my contemporary romantic short story, "Buon Anno!" will be part of the anthology NO LAW AGAINST LOVE 2, published by Highland Press. The anthology will be released late Spring 2007. All proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to charity. Last year, the profits from NO LAW AGAINST LOVE were donated to fund breast cancer research, and this year's charity is being decided now. Please be sure to buy at least one copy and support a worthy cause. The LOVE IN A BOTTLE contest runs through March 31. Have you entered yet? Go to the LOVE IN A BOTTLE page for details. I don't think we need Valentine's Day to be romantic. Let's be romantic every day!
January '07 - I want to wish you a healthy, happy and romantic New Year. Right now I'm hard at work on the latest Work In Progress, and I'm just loving it! Please join me and fellow romance authors Deborah MacGillivray (THE INVASION OF FALGANNON ISLE), Eve Silver (HIS DARK KISS) and Diana Groe (ERINSONG) on January 30 at www.coffeetimeromance.com as we participate in an online chat. The chat begins at 9 p.m. EST. Come prepared with questions, or just hang out and chat. I’m looking forward to meeting you! Looking forward to March: I'll also be participating in Cheers for Writers, a group of writers and book lovers who meet at the Burbank, California Barnes & Noble. On Saturday, March 24, 2007, 1 p.m., the topic for the meeting will be "Cowboys, The Old West, and Romance." I will be there, answering questions and signing books, so if you live in the Los Angeles area, please stop by and join me in a great group discussion format. And don't forget to enter the LOVE IN A BOTTLE contest, which runs through March 31st, 2007. See the details in the LOVE IN A BOTTLE section of the website. Have a terriffic 2007! December '06 - LOVE IN A BOTTLE is now on shelves! We've also updated the LOVE IN A BOTTLE page, where you will find information about the contest, reviews, background information about the book, and even the original version of Sophie's dream which didn't make it into the published book. All you have to do to enter the contest is sign up for my newsletter, Archer's Arrows, on the Contact page. More information about the prizes can be found at the LOVE IN A BOTTLE page. LADY X'S COWBOY is going to be published in German! The rights have just been purchased by CORA. Soon, readers in France and Germany will be falling in love will Will Coffin. How sophisticated! I hope everyone has a wonderful, romantic holiday season and New Year. September '06 - We've just posted the LOVE IN A BOTTLE excerpt. Take a stroll over to the LOVE IN A BOTTLE page and check it out. The book is also now available for presale at your favorite online retailer (e.g. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders), so all you early birds can get your fix. We're two months away from the release date and I can barely contain my excitement. I've also recently learned that LADY X'S COWBOY is going to be translated into French! Not sure of the release date, but it will be published by J'ai Lu, a publishing house in France. My first foreign edition, mes amis. Autumn is finally here - hooray! I love the cooler temperatures (which, among other things, allows me to finally turn my oven on and do some serious baking) and fall clothes are my favorite. The colors! The sweaters! The boots! It's a misconception that Southern California doesn't have seasons. We sure do, only they're a little more...subtle here than they are in many other parts of the country. The cooler weather also means that I get to hunker down and really concentrate on my latest WIP. I don't feel guilty for staying inside and writing, which, yes, does happen. Have a great autumn, and come back soon for reviews and the trivia contest.
August '06 - The new website is online! Take a look around and enjoy our makeover, including new information on the upcoming LOVE IN A BOTTLE (release date November 28, 2006). We'll be posting an excerpt soon, plus stay tuned for the LOVE IN A BOTTLE trivia contest. I've just returned from the Romance Writers of America national conference in Atlanta, Georgia. In between dashing to informative panels, I managed to sneak out and visit the gigantic Georgia Aquarium, where I saw the enormous tank filled with whale sharks and rays, as well as the World of Coke, where I sampled Coke and Coke products from around the globe. (My favorites were the apple sodas from China and Mexico.) Though I wasn't able to make the Literacy Signing, I was thrilled to learn that the RWA raised over $60,000 for literacy programs. I've returned home exhausted and motivated. Enjoy the rest of summer and stay cool by reading a good book in the shade. |
